On Saturday, Vlora FC suited up for their third league game within 8 days. The club was one of two teams to play as many this early on in the season. Although it may have been tough stretch the team feels good to win all 3 games and capture all nine points to start the season. The latest match against Minnesota Brooklyn Knights FC was a match that required a lot of grit and mental focus. In a match that had several stoppages, one lasting almost 20 minutes, really tested the players to stay focus.
The only goal in the match came from Vlora FC winger Robert Cooper (Leo Anthony). Shortly after Cooper had to substituted due to a head-to-head collision with a Brooklyn Knights’s defender. In a game that became much more physical, Vlora FC was able to withstand the increased pressure from Brooklyn Knights and take the three points, with a 1-0 win. Goalkeeper Vaclav Hasenohrl was able to keep the clean sheet and was the man of the match.
Vlora FC coach Carter Albrecht had some comments following the match. “It was a real test today. A true battle. But, at the final whistle, we’ve taken nine points from the first possible nine, through a difficult stretch of three matches in eight days. We’re really defining a culture of winning, of doing what it takes. We’re defining our mentality of strength. And, despite all these positives, we still haven’t hit our full stride yet. I know it’s coming.”
