Easily the most highly anticipated season opener for the UPSL Midwest West Men’s Division ends in a 1-1 draw. Vlora FC hosted Minneapolis City on Sunday as a rematch of the only two unbeaten teams from last season. If you ask the spectators, the game did not disappoint as it definitely had its exciting moments. If you ask both teams they might say otherwise as both had chances to pull out a great first win of the season, but unfortunately the stalemate continues. Minneapolis City were able to score the first goal of game on a counter after enduring an enormous amount of pressure in the first 20 minutes. The equalizer would eventually come from Vlora FC newcomer Assem Elsayad. As a late sub in second half, Elsayad would score a solo goal which came from great effort on his part. It was a great way to make a debut. If this season proves to shape out like last season, then that point could prove to be crucial.
