It was yet another close match for Vlora FC as they hosted Dakota Young Stars FC. Vlora FC came into the match just 3 points ahead of Dakota Young Stars due to them previously dropping points against Minneapolis City SC in 1-0 loss. Vlora FC came into the match clearly in the driver seat and a win would cement them as the sole leaders in UPSL Midwest West Division. The match didn’t quite go as Vlora FC would hope as they found themselves down 0-1 towards the later part of the first half. Vlora FC with multiple lineup changes looked to struggle in possession and creating clear scoring opportunities. It was Dakota Young Stars who found themselves in a confident possession with their quick counters and pace upfront.
The second half would swing in Vlora FC’s favor which has been pretty typical of this side this season. A strong second half is exactly what we saw from the side who looked much more comfortable in possession. Dakota would still create a few chances off of counters but none that would pay off. Vlora FC would equalize off a beautiful cross from Pablo Campos that was headed in by Robert Cooper. Vlora would create a few more close chances in the final moments but could not capitalize and the match would finish in a 1-1 draw leaving the race for the top of the table very much in contention with just a few matches to go.
