Men and Women UPSL Squads Pick Up 3 PTS

Vlora FC bounced back both on the men and women side this Sunday by picking up very important wins. On the men’s side they traveled on the road to St. Cloud to take on Granite City FC who have struggled to find a good result thus far this season. It definitely needed to be a must win game for Vlora to keep up with the other division title contenders. With a rotated squad they stepped up and handled business beating Granite City FC 3-1 and claiming 3 pts keeping the team right on pace to challenge for the division title. Alex Gomez and Dylan Sanchez would made their first UPSL start this season in the road victory. The goal scorers Suad Suljic, Robert Cooper (A. Elsayad assist), and Assem Elsayad (S. Suljic assist).


On the women’s side they hosted their first UPSL home game against St. Croix SC. The squad was coming off a 2-0 away loss to Superior City FC. Eager to bounce back and grab their first points in the squad’s history, the team got off to a strong start vs St. Croix. Vlora FC Forward Lauren Ives would open the scoring in the 25th minute by slotting home a through ball from Andrea Delius, making it the team’s first goal UPSL history.

Vlora FC would find their second goal from a free kick in the 36th minute. Izzy Lone would hit a rocket from about 25 yards out from the right side. St. Croix would score a late goal in the 86th minute to pull within a goal. Vlora FC would hold on to secure their first ever win and 3 pts.
