UPSL Men’s Team Wins 3rd in a Row

2-1 Win in Austin, MN Is The 3rd Consecutive Win

Vlora FC Men’s UPSL team wins its third game in a row to position themselves firmly in the top four. Coming off a convincing 4-1 home win against Maplebrook 58ers, the men’s team went on the road to Austin, MN Saturday night to face Austin Villa FC. Austin Villa coming off a 2-0 away loss to Minneapolis City was looking to bounce back and hopefully pick up some points that will give them some playoff hopes. Vlora FC traveled to Austin with a rotated squad, missing all four defenders that started the previous game against Maplebrook. One beneficiary of the absent players was Deq Jama who would make his first appearance and start at Left Back, in which he would play the full 90 minutes. Alex Gomez and Eloy Flores would also get their second starts of the season at center back. Newcomer Franco Pretell would also make his appearance coming off the bench to fill in at right back.

In the first half Vlora FC would open the scoring with a goal from Pablo Campos, who would head home a chipped ball from Avery Larsson in the 16th minute. The game would take a shift later in the half when Austin Villa FC would be awarded a penalty. After making it level from penalty, Austin Villa FC would look a lot more comfortable and dangerous going forward. The first half would end 1-1. In the second half, Vlora FC would make some adjustments and looked a lot more dangerous going forward. Pablo Campos would give Vlora the go-ahead goal in the 57th minute from tap in off an initial save from the Austin Villa keeper. Vlora would hold on to secure a tough 2-1 victory that gives them a firm position in the top four of table.
