Important Win in Season Opener

Come from behind 2-1 win on the road

The club opened the season with an important win. The squad saw themselves down 0-1 to league newcomers Ebusua FC at the half after creating a number of chances. In the second half the club continued their strong play scoring two goals to capture a hard-fought victory as the away side. The goals came from by Suad Suljic (Leo Anthony) and Anthony.

Vlora FC coach Carter Albrecht had the following to say about the team’s first league match of the season… “Fantastic way to start the season. Conditions surrounding the league match were strange, and I don’t just mean the weather. We were the better team and deserved the three points. However, being down 1-0 at the half despite having the better chances, that’s not for the weak of character. Our mentality defined today’s result. The football will continue to get better, but I couldn’t be happier with the mental strength we showed.”

Although pleased with the result, the club has just a few days to get ready for their next matchup. The club has their home opener on Wednesday, May 4th at 7:30pm as they take on Maplebrook 58ers at Burnsville High School. Tickets can be purchased here.
